How many baby boomers were winners at 2010 Academy Awards?

It looks like baby boomers did better this year in garnering Academy Awards. Last year, among the winners I could find birthdates for, there were six boomers.

This year I was able to locate 14 baby boomer Oscar winners. They are:

• Christopher Waltz, 54, Best Supporting Actor, “Inglourious Basterds”

• Kathryn Bigelow, 58, Best Picture and Directing, “The Hurt Locker”

• T Bone Burnett, 62, Original Song, “Crazy Heart”

• Jose Campanella, 50, Foreign Language Film, “The Secret in Their Eyes”

• Rick Carter, 57, Art Direction, “Avatar”

• Kim Sinclair, 55, Set Direction, “Avatar”

• Mauro Fiore, 45, Cinematography, “Avatar”

• Sandy Powell, 49, Costume, “Young Victoria”

• Fisher Stevens, 46, Documentary Feature, “The Cove”

• Louie Psihoyos, 52, Documentary Feature, “The Cove”

• Bob Murkawaki, 45, Film Editing, “The Hurt Locker”

• Joe Letteri, 52, Visual Effects, “Avatar”

The most emotional and heart-warming moment at the AARP event was won Director Aron Gaudet invited Morgan Freeman up on stage to share in a photo with the three stars of the film. This film, which I saw on Netflix, is by far one of the best films of the year. I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks. Food Inc was good but you should really see The Way We Get By. Highly recommend it.
