When you go to the grocery store, it’s a good idea to leave your credit cards and debit cards at home.
A recent study shows that paying with cash instead of debit or credit cards reduces the temptation to fill the shopping cart with unhealthy junk food, reports RealAge. The reason people buy less junk food with cash is that they seem to feel it in their wallets more when paying cash.
Only 14 percent of people use cash to grocery shop, according to RealAge. Researchers suspect this may one of the factors behind the current obesity epidemic.
