How to be an informed boomer consumer voter
October 30, 2008
Election day, Nov. 4, is upon us.
Although most people have made up their minds who'll be getting their vote for president, there are many important state and local races on ballots throughout America. Candidates for governor, Congress, attorney general, treasurer, the state legislature, judge, and local government offices also are on the ballot.
And, in many states, ballot measures are offered on state and local issues.
Where can you find information about these candidates and ballot issues further down on the ballot?
The League of Women Voters of the United States offers a Web site Vote411.com. It provides general voter information such as what's on the ballot in your state.
How can you determine before Tuesday how you can make informed choices?
See my article "Be Sure to Vote Nov. 4, and Be Sure to Be an Informed Boomer Consumer Voter" on Boomer411 for tips on how to research candidates and issues.
I blog weekly for Boomer411 as a guest blogger.

Thanks for leaving the comment on my blog.
You don't need to sing the praises of AARP to me. I wrote a consumer 50-plus column for The (Tacoma) News Tribune for more than 18 years. In that work I quoted information from AARP many times as I do in this blog and my reader blog on the Seattle Post Intelligencer Web site called the Boomer Consumer. It's a great organization for people 50-plus.
