What should you do when your income drops?

If you’ve lost your job or had a loss of income for other reasons, it’s a challenge in the best of times. In the current economy, it’s essential to map out a plan to get back on your feet again.

Possible ways for moving forward include:

  • Wyid Think positive
  • Simplify your lifestyle
  • Work temporarily at a second job
  • Find another job
  • Return to school
  • Start your own business

When mapping out a plan, consider:

  • The magnitude of the problem
  • Your assets
  • Your priorities
  • Your options
  • The unexpected
  • A timeline
See the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Web page, When Your Income Drops, for fact sheets, activities, and PowerPoint presentations to help you brainstorm and make a plan for the future.
