Facts and figures on St. Patrick’s Day 2012

What are the top 10 places to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year?

Chicago Downtown Lake 5

By Rita R. Robison

I’m looking forward to St. Patrick’s Day. I have a great new green outfit to wear. Since green isn’t one of my favorite colors, I’m usually not wearing green on the “wearin’ of the green” special day.

I even plan to go to a pub for a drink.

What are the best cities for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day?

The Huffington Post recommends:

  • New York City
  • Chicago
  • Los Angeles
  • Phoenix
  • San Diego
  • Boston
  • Houston
  • Columbus
  • Indianapolis

U.S. News and World Report’s Travel says these American cities have the best St. Patrick’s Day parades:

  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • New York City
  • Savannah, Ga.
  • Dublin, Ohio
  • Philadelphia
  • Hot Springs, Ark.
  • Scranton, Pa.
  • Kansas City, Mo.

Cheaptickets.com suggests:

  • Dublin, Ireland
  • New York City
  • Boston
  • Savannah, Ga.
  • Chicago
  • Birmingham, England
  • Montreal
  • Seattle
  • Buenos Aires

I hope you have a great St. Patrick’s Day. Most cities have fun celebrations where you can enjoy yourself. To have a good time wear green, avoid pinching, and drink your favorite green-colored beverage.

The view is the Chicago skyline. I took the photo from the Willis Tower, formerly the Sears Tower.
