Boomer Guide wins big prize at annual journalism contest

Rita at WPS 2014 IMG_4443At the Washington Press Association awards ceremony Saturday in Seattle, The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide was presented with a dozen awards for articles written during 2013.

It’s fun to be one of the sweepstakes winners. I’ve been submitting articles to the WPA contest for more than 10 years.

I usually try to take some time to evaluate my articles and ponder which articles to submit in the categories that I’m eligible for. However, this year, due to an illness in the family and the looming deadline, I quickly selected articles and sent them in.

What a surprise to be one of the sweepstakes winners. It’s really been a great day.
