Baby boomer bloggers ponder change

DaffodillsI’m the host for this week’s Best of Boomer Blogs #392.

Spring is coming and boomer bloggers are thinking about new beginnings. They’re writing about cleaning houses, starting anew in life, getting rid of the gray – hair that is, and whether boomers should start business.

The task of cleaning is a constant in our lives, or at least in the lives of most women. Meryl Baer of Six Decades and Counting can’t seem to avoid it. In fact, she cleans more than ever now that she and her hub are airbnb hosts. Read her lament on cleaning at “Cleaning Up Cleaning Out Cleaning House.”

If you ever feel bored with the predictability of your life, Laura Lee Carter of the Midlife Crisis Queen has a cure. In the past few years she has changed husbands, careers, and homes twice... so far. Learn more about how midlife crisis can change everything.

Tom Sightings weighs in on “50 Shades of Gray.” But, if you notice the spelling of "gray," you'll know that Tom's not really talking about the movie.

On my blog, I write about if it’s a good idea for baby boomers to start their own businesses. William Galston, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institute, said “let’s curb our enthusiasm,” in the debate over whether sound public policy should encourage aging and retiring workers to extend their careers by starting new companies. In a Washington Post article, Galston said many boomers’ savings were hit hard by the recession. And, they’d have less time to recover due to their age if the business fails.
