I’m the host for this week’s Best of Boomer Blogs #404.
As an older adult, I’ve been discriminated against – many times. How about you?
On my blog, Brendan Hare, author of “From Working to Wisdom: The Adventures and Dreams of Older Americans,” writes that ageism stands as one of the last widely acceptable social prejudices. Everyone, it seems, indulges in it, even the most conscientious among us, Hare said.
He predict that ageism will soon be washed away by the fast approaching “silver tsunami” as more and more baby boomers reach retirement.

Tom Sightings of Sightings Over Sixty found a new and interesting web page, developed by the AARP Policy Institute, which offers a "web based tool to measure community livability." It rates every town and city in the country, searchable by address or zip code, in seven categories ranging from housing to health. So if you're thinking of relocating in retirement take a look at his post “What's Your Livability Score?” to see how your dream location measures up. Or, if you're just curious, check out how your old hometown scores in the various categories.
