Baby boomer bloggers ponder change
August 23, 2016
As the end of summer nears, we cram in as many activities as possible, realizing the weather soon turns cool and long hours of daylight diminish, Meryl Baer of Six Decades and Counting tells us in this week’s report on our boomer blogging group.
I for one find it shocking that summer is going to end soon. I’ve so enjoyed my garden, being in the yard in the early evening every day it’s been so hot and watering my gardens has seemed almost magical.
Then, we had a couple of cooler days with wind. A few branches and quite a few leaves came down and, suddenly, my yard lost its magical look. Its summer looks old and tired, as if the fall and winter are going to overtake it.
Baer likes seasonal changes, she tells us, but she’s surprised by changes in her hometown of 35 years – Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Developers are redeveloping old factory properties and charging as much as $660,000 for a three-bedroom condo.
Other boomer bloggers write about a more innocent time, memories of mom, a famous comedian, a cramped airplane trip, and treats from the garden.
It’s our 462nd boomer blog roundup. To read the articles, click here to get the links.
