Enjoy wines from Washington state this month

March is Taste Washington Wine Month.

To celebrate it, I decided to attend Taste Washington, a huge event in Seattle, Washington featuring more than 235 wineries and food from 65 restaurants.

This year, the 20th anniversary of Taste Washington, I decided I’d concentrate on tasting wines from the wineries I’ve visited.

Several years ago, I was surprised to learn that wine was being made near my home south of Seattle in addition to Yakima and Walla Walla. I began wine tasting and, since then, I’ve organized wine tours in Chelan, Woodinville, Cashmere-Monitor-Leavenworth, Walla Walla, Mount Vernon, Pullman, and Thurston County in Washington state and in Sonoma, Santa Cruz, Temecula, and Amador County in California. I've also organized wine tours in Spain.

When I was growing up in Central Washington, there were no wineries. Now Chelan has about 20 wineries.

See my article "How to Organize a Wine Tour" for information on how to get started wine tasting.

Here’s a list of the wineries whose wines I sampled at Taste Washington this year:
