Sales abound on Memorial Day
May 26, 2017
Although summer officially begins June 21, for many the season really starts during the Memorial Day weekend.
Memorial Day sales provide an opportunity to get some good deals. But buyer beware, this isn’t the time to buy summer items.
Dealnews.com offers these tips for getting bargains at the Memorial Day sales:
Save up to 90 percent on spring clothing
Expect to see from 20 percent to 90 percent off at stores such as Uniqlo, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Vera Bradley, Hollister, PacSun, and Eddie Bauer.
Coupons aren't just for clothes
You could get extra savings on travel, BBQ grill sets, appliances, patio furniture, and more.
Home goods stores will take up to 75 percent off
Lowe's is likely to take up to 30 percent off select items, and Home Depot's Memorial Day sales are offering bargains, too, with up to 37 percent off select items. And, good sales are also likely to come from Sears, JCPenney, and Cymax.
Save on a better night's sleep
May is usually a good time to replace your mattress with a new one. Prices could start as low as $125 for a twin mattress.
Book your next vacation
Memorial Day weekend is actually a decent time to book your summer travel.
Beyond Memorial Day
While most sales tend to end on Memorial Day or the day after, some sales are extended through mid-June or later.
