Baby boomers reflect on 2017 and look forward to a new year
January 02, 2018
While the United States has made progress in technology, science, and medicine since the days when baby boomers were young, the world’s social consciousness has taken a step backward, tells on her blog Baby Boomster. Prejudice and disregard for human life have made a comeback, and it’s not just in the U.S. It’s all over the world, says.
Her advice? Let’s work in 2018 to turn away from complacency and take action to change things for the better. My advice? Join a group, such as Public Citizen or the Center for Science in the Public Interest, and support good candidates or run for public office yourself. Above all, keep informed on what’s happening to consumers and let elected officials know what you want them to do.
As 2017 ended, boomer bloggers were writing about making a seasonal bucket list, moving to a rural area for retirement, figuring out the top consumer stories for 2017, letting go of things, and offering an annual New Years’ quiz.
