CFLs contain mercury. Unless you don't mind polluting the environment, you can't dispose of them except via a hazardous waste site or, where I live, an annual (or longer) hazardous waste "round up" day.

LEDs are a better option but they are definitely more expensive then incandescent lightbulbs.

Good point. LEDs are a better option.



We recently started changing our bulbs over to LED's. I was actually surprised by how well they work. Now here's hoping they last as long as they say they do. I want to get my money's worth out of them.

I hope your LED's last a long time. I've been buying them for several years. None have lasted the 15-22 years that it says on the package.
