Have you ever eaten or made brookies?

When I went to Safeway on Sunday and looked to maybe buy a brownie for a treat, I found some brookies. They looked like brownies with chocolate chip cookies baked on top. I thought I’d try them. They tasted great.

Never having had a brookie before, I looked up a recipe to find out how they’re made. In this brookie recipe, you spread the chocolate chip cookie dough in the bottom of an oblong baking pan, then put the brownie dough on top of it.

While it looks like twice as much work as making either chocolate chip cookies or making brownies, you could use mixes for one or both to cut down on the preparation time.

I sent a photo to my daughter, a big dessert lover, and she said we should try and make them sometime.

Brownies are great and chocolate chip cookies are also delicious. So brookies sounds like something worth trying.
