Working in a bank, I see this ALL the time. I can't tell you how many times I'm assisting elderly people with stop payments, finding numbers for them to call, and providing additional information.

Those free trials drive me nuts. I just had a charge for a pair of sox that apparently were on auto-renew that I never saw when I ordered them. I canceled but it screwed up my checking account. Now I'm on a trial for Amazon Prime but I want to see Mrs. Maisel. Decisions, decisions.

Hi Jennifer and Rebecca,

I don't do free trial offers anymore. Years ago, I ordered a free magazine, thinking I was getting a great deal. Then, before you knew it, the company started sending me magazines every month. I had to cancel. Now, it's trickier because, as the attorneys general point out, it's in the fine print on the internet.
