More than 3 million bottles of Airborne Gummies are being recalled due to injury risk
March 21, 2022
Reckitt is recalling 3.74 million bottles of Airborne Gummies, 63 and 75 count bottles.
When opened for the first time, pressure build up in the bottle can cause the cap and underlying seal to pop off with force, posing an injury risk.
Reckitt has received 70 reports of the cap or seal popping off the bottles, including 18 reports of minor injuries and one report of an eye injury requiring medical attention.
This recall involves only 63 and 75 count bottles of Airborne Gummies. They were sold in blueberry pomegranate, orange, and assorted fruit flavors. The UPC numbers are located on the product label and lot codes and expiration dates are located on the bottom of the bottle.
See this list for the UPC numbers and lot codes included in the recall.
The gummies were sold at Target, Walgreens, CVS, Kroger, Sam’s Club, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Costco, Walmart, and other stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com and www.schiffvitamins.com from May 2020 through February 2022. The cost was between $18 and $33.
Consumers with an unopened bottle(s) shouldn’t attempt to open it/them and should contact Reckitt to return the unopened bottle(s) to receive a refund, the company and U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advise. A postage-paid label will be provided.
Bottles that have already been opened aren’t subject to this recall as they would have released any pressure build up and don’t present an injury risk.
