Facts and figures for Halloween 2023

Boy-with Pumpkins for Halloween 8334944_640It’s that time of year again. It’s getting colder and darker, the leaves are falling, and on Halloween, the ghosts and goblins will be coming out.

With 73 percent of Americans planning to celebrate Halloween this year and the average person expected to spend $108, Halloween is one of the biggest holidays in the United States.

To save money, avoid buying new, single-use costumes. Check second hand stores, make a homemade costume with things you have around the house, or borrow from friends. The price of the average premade kids’ costume is between $30-70 dollars. Other money saving tips include: determine how much candy you need, set a budget, clip coupons and use rewards points, shop the sales, buy in bulk, avoid chocolate, buy whatever is cheapest, and give non-candy treats.
