It’s fantastic that the writers’ strike is over

It lasted five long months. The strike between the Writers Guild of America and Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers has been settled.
I’ve really missed my favorite late night host Stephen Colbert. Colbert hosted his first program after the strike on Monday.
During the strike, I watched Jimmy Kimmel instead, until I saw so many of his shows that I was seeing reruns, too.
Unfortunately, I don’t watch Dr. Phil, also on during the late night show timeframe, anymore because he had a weak program on cancel culture with clips of the opponents of it screaming their opposition.
I also watched streaming services more. I tried to finish watching “The Handmaiden’s Tale” TV series, but it was just too disturbing.
I happened across “Suits” on Peacock and thought it was a new series. However, when I figured out the actress who looked like Meghan Markle actually was Meghan Markle, I remembered that she had a supporting role in the series. She did an O.K. job in the role.
I’m also thankful the strike is settled because the writers are receiving higher pay, streaming bonuses, minimum staffing for TV writers rooms, and regulations on the studios’ use of AI.
Welcome back, Stephen. Keep those jokes, that cheer me up, coming.
