Happy Saints Patrick’s Day
March 17, 2024
I love Ireland. In 2016, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to visit Ireland with my daughter Lisa.
When we flew into Dublin, it was like I was coming home. Ireland is a lot like the Seattle area where I live – lots of rain and green in the landscape. And, some of my ancestors, the Baylee family, came from Ireland.
We visited Dublin with its art museums, history, cathedrals, Guinness factory, and pubs; County Clare with picturesque small farms in the countryside and Kilkishin where Baylee decedents live; the Cliffs of Moher; and the doleman in the Burren.
On Friday, I went to Blarney’s, an Irish restaurant where I live, with a friend for an early Saint Patrick’s Day celebration. We went early because, on Saint Patrick’s Day it’s so crowded that it’s not fun.
Usually, I wear my green outfit, a rarity because green isn’t one of my favorite colors, and I have a green drink.
However, Friday I was so tired from helping a friend get ready to move I could barely move.
But then, when I went shopping to help her on Saturday, I bought some plain unicorn cookies because they were out of the Saint Patrick’s Day cookies we had last week. Also, next to the spot where Saint Patrick’s Day cookies should have been was green and white frosting and green sprinkles.
My friend loves to celebrate holidays and also likes unicorns and fairies.
For a tea break, we had unicorn cookies decorated with the Saint Patrick’s day frosting and sprinkles. It brightened a tiring day.
Best wishes to you for a great Saint Patrick’s Day.
