Best wishes on Election Day
November 05, 2024
If you haven’t already, be sure and vote. There’s a lot at stake not only nationally with the presidency and both houses of Congress up for grabs but at the state and local governmental levels, too.
I’m so happy it’s finally Election Day. It’s been just an awful two-year campaign season. The racist, antiwomen, antidemocratic, antigovernment, and even vulgar comments by Donald Trump have brought American campaigning to an all-time low. In the last days of the campaign, Trump’s rambling, jumbled speeches contained dark and often menacing rhetoric.
As a journalist, I’m extremely disappointed in how the media has responded to Trump, publishing every terrible word he says often at the top of the newspaper page or the lead to the evening news on television.
So, today, it will all be over. The presidency will be decided and the United States of America will go on, trying to deal with the challenges that grip our country and the world.
Although the polls say the presidential race is a tossup, one thing is certain. The Right won’t give up on its efforts to take over American government and the lives of American citizens. We’ll all need to keep working to keep democracy alive and strong. You can count on me to continue to report on consumer and personal finance news you can use. We all need to make a contribution to help America move forward.
