What to buy and not buy in January 2025

Sheets Red and Green IMG_8071It’s that time of year. Many people are familiar with after Christmas sales and January white sales.

On Monday, I took my coupons that Macy’s keeps sending me to the store to see if I could find anything good on sale.

Right away, I saw some red and green plaid sheets on sale for $25. A good deal. Probably not 75 percent off like the tag said, but probably 50 percent off.

Although some people may not like the red and green Christmas plaid, those colors were the colors of my high school, so they’re a favorite.

Other sales to look for in January, according to DealNews.com are: small appliances, fitness equipment, gym memberships, beauty items, TVs, winter clothing, and laptops.

Black Friday and Back to School season are the best times to buy laptops, but January may also provide some great deals. For TVs, if you missed the Black Friday sales, you may be able to find good bargains in January.

For what not to buy in January, it’s mattresses, major appliances, jewelry, snow gear, luggage, and spring clothing. February or March or better for these except spring clothing, which you’re likely to see on sale in April or May.

Happy shopping.
