Bloggers look at the past and to the future as summer comes to an end

For the last few weeks, I’ve been working on organizing my historical family photos. About 10 years ago, I had around 200 photos scanned. I named and dated about a third of them. The rest are numbered. I paused the project until I could buy a good scanner so I could scan the rest of the photos myself. Now, I need to name those and scan others. Read more →

As summer unfolds, bloggers enjoy vacations, gardens, and more

I love the beautiful summer days here in the Seattle area. People are streaming into Western Washington due to the mild weather, attractive as climate change worsens, and the job opportunities. It’s so nice to be enjoying 70 degree weather as many areas of the country swelter. I’m also appreciating my wonderful garden.   Read more →

Full approval of lecanemab to treat Alzheimer’s by the FDA fails patients and the public, consumer group says

The approval of a new drug to treat Alzheimer’s disease is controversial. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave full approval to the drug lecanemab (Leqembi) Thursday to treat adults with Alzheimer’s disease. In January, Public Citizen, a consumer advocacy organization, urged the agency not to approve the drug. Read more →

Bloggers begin summer with shopping, making summer plans, travel, and other fun

On Memorial Day, I rushed over to REI to see what I could find at its “biggest sale of the year.” REI’s clothing, shoes, and other items are so expensive I only buy things when they’re on sale. Bloggers venturing out as spring unfolds

It’s been the second coldest April in history here in the Seattle area. And, then, there’s the rain, rain, rain. Even hail at times. Since I’m a photojournalist, I like to take photos of our state Capitol when the cherry blossoms are blooming. Many years it’s tricky to get a blue sky with the iconic building. Read more →

Looking at the past and the future as we move forward in 2023

I don’t know about you, but 2022 went by so fast for me. After four years, I was finally able to get the first draft of the book about my journalism career done, but the printed copy is still elusive. I’m not a person who makes resolutions, but I’ve written about why people make them and how well they work or don’t work. Read more →

Bloggers write about the past, present, and future

It’s difficult to figure out what to write about here. The death of Queen Elizabeth II? Or the death of my daughter-in-law’s father George Waegell? Or getting together with my high school friends and remembering those days so many years ago. Thankfully, my blogging friends helped solved my dilemma ... Read more →

Bloggers offer stories and tips from their everyday lives

One thing I’ve noticed about being an older adult is that you lose friends and relatives, and the older you get, the more often people your age pass away. Last week, my former husband died. At the left is our wedding photo. Divorced in 1986, we were married for 23 years and had two daughters. Read more →
